By: Sultan Mohamed Sultan Garyare
sulaan garyare

Somalia is located on the Horn of Africa, with an estimated population of between 9 and 10.5 millions. After 17 years and many attempts to restore governance since the overthrow of Siad Barre’s regime in 1991, Somalia has had puppet government backed by Ethiopian troops for over three years but it is a weak government that cannot control the country, because it is incompetence and illegitimate.

Who Spoiled Ethiopian Dream

Feb 10, 2008
By Abdulkadir A. Mohamud (Jangali)

After a couple of fruitless attempts from IGAD and the Arab League to mediate between Transitional Federal Government and Union of Islamic Courts, the USA gave the final “GO” to Ethiopian troops to crush the UIC. On December 28th 2006, Ethiopian troops, backed by US warplanes, entered in Mogadishu.

Ethiopia’s Dirty War

Jan 23, 2008
By Jason McLure

Somalis living in Ethiopia are caught in the crossfire between the government and rebels. It was early one morning in July when 400 Ethiopian soldiers came to Ridwan Hassan Zahid's village of Qorile, 120 miles southeast of Degehebur, Ethiopia, a dusty market town. The small settlement of ethnic Somalis in eastern Ethiopia was suspected of supporting separatist rebels from the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF), and the government troops were out to exact revenge.

USA Third way Option for Somalia is a False One!

Jan 20, 2008
By Prof Amina Mire

Victory is near but with victory there is all too real potential that it could be stolen and that more misery could be ahead for our nation and people. The greatest danger at present facing our nation is the occupation forces of Meles Zinawi, the criminal warlords and the USA. Today, these are clearly marked existential enemies of Somalia.

Towards a future US-Somalia Strategic Partnership: is 2008 the year?

Jan 17, 2008
The Ethiopian occupation genocide has collapsed irretrievably onto itself in Somalia. The Resistance grows every day in lethality and mass appeal. Consequently, what is taking place now UN diplomatic circles and European capitals (as well as in Saudi Arabia) is largely a byproduct of and driven by a realistic US policy reassessment of the failed Ethiopian occupation of Somalia. Giving up on the Ethiopian regime it brought into Somalia 2006, the US in 2008 is moving towards securing its own vital strategic interests in Somalia through dialogue

Ahmed Dirie: The Somali Nelson Mandela

Despite Ahmed Dirie’s brief public service history, he accomplished what few other man achieved in all civilizations. Ahmed Dirie revived the ever diminish Somali-esteem and pride by standing up against a brutal enemy with unfettered support from the only supper power, United States of America. At first glance, Ahmed Dirie seemed a very fragile and naïve individual as he was not a heavy build/muscular and highly educated man.

U.S. Engagement in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa

Jan 11, 2008

Outsourcing the War on terror to tyrants: How Ethiopia and the TFG destroyed Somalia

Jan 08, 2008
By Abdirizak Omar Mohamed
Surprisingly, it marks the first anniversary of Ethiopia’s illegal occupation of Somalia, and I write this piece in memory of those who were killed, looted and raped by this aggression of the unholy alliance of the Ethiopians and its TFG militias, everyone who died while resisting occupation is a martyr, and it is within every Somali’s god given right as well as under international laws to resist occupation and liberate your country from outside aggression.

Ethiopia: Created dangerous situation in Somalia

Jan 06, 2008

American foreign policy is the direct cause of the humanitarian crisis in Somalia - the worst in all of Africa, according to United Nations officials. That's why, until recent days, U.S. corporate media said little or nothing about the hundreds of thousands of Somalis - now numbering at least half a million - who face death by starvation and disease because of a war instigated and facilitated by Washington.
